Dr. Moffitt is a native Floridian raised in Hollywood, Florida. After graduating from Pine Crest Preparatory School in Fort Lauderdale, Dr. Moffitt attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she received a B.S. in Zoology. She then received her MD from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in general pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric infectious diseases at Duke University Medical Center in 1995. Dr. Moffitt returned to Florida in 1995, where she served as the Chief of Hospital Based Pediatrics at Broward Health from 1997 through 2005. Her career in managed care began in 2005, when she joined Vista Health Plan (a legacy company of Coventry and then Aetna). After two years as a medical director, Dr. Moffitt became the health plan’s executive lead of State Programs, overseeing the Medicaid, CHIP, and Long Term Care programs. In October 2014, she transitioned back to a primary medical management role with special focus on alignment of clinical and administrative management. Dr. Moffitt is married and has two children.
