The 2016 USHCC National Convention kicks off with the Welcome Reception, where guests from across the nation gather for the first time to be welcomed by USHCC leadership, honorary guest speakers, special event sponsors, and some of the nation’s most respected business leaders.
This 3-day college-level comprehensive program on Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking, and Leadership is lead by George Washington University. Chamber Awards Breakfast
The USHCC begins its first day of full events with a salute to our local chambers of commerce throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. It is here where we honor three Hispanic chambers with the Chamber of the Year Award for their extraordinary contributions to their commercial ecosystems. Local chambers from across the nation and within our 200 members are evaluated by their outstanding accomplishments, leadership, service, and commitment to the Hispanic business community.
USHCC ERG Summit & Challenge
The only national event of its kind, our Employee Resource Group (ERG) Summit focuses on the development of Hispanic employees and executives within Corporate America. In 2015, the Corporate Challenge top 5 finalists included PG&E, Dell, AT&T, Google, and American Airlines competing to be named the top Hispanic Employee Resource Group in the country. Ultimately, PG&E was recognized as the 2015 ERG Summit Challenge Winner.
Women in Business and Leadership Luncheon
This cornerstone event celebrates trailblazing women who have reached the highest echelons of success in their fields and made outstanding contributions to their industries. Awarded at the luncheon, the Excellence in Leadership Award pays tribute to an extraordinary woman who embodies success, entrepreneurialism, a philanthropic drive, and elevates the American business community through her endeavors. The 2015 award-recipient was Dr. Renu Khator, Chancellor and President, University of Houston.
CEO Panel: A Dialogue with Corporate Leaders
The CEO Panel Series is a premiere event for national business leaders representing a variety of industries. After a full day of events, meet business leaders from across the nation and forge new relationships with fellow entrepreneurs leading the charge in small business and corporate America. Use this networking opportunity to share ideas on expanding your business and learn best practices from executives at some of the nation’s top corporations and most innovative businesses.
Day 3 | Tuesday, October 11, 2016
Million Dollar Club Breakfast
Going on its fifth year, the Million Dollar Club showcases and celebrates top corporations that lead the way in integrating Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs) into their strategic sourcing and procurement process. Each of the honorees is a trailblazer in supplier diversity – increasing opportunities for I-and II-tier Hispanic suppliers exemplifying the highest level of commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The USHCC National Convention provides a unique forum for Hispanic Business Enterprises to connect with procurement officers from federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies, representing hundreds of millions of dollars in business opportunities. Every year, thousands of unique appointments take place during these business matchmaking events. Meetings provide an opportunity for buyers and sellers to discuss specific projects and capabilities.
The Closing Gala is a time to celebrate the end of another successful National Convention and recognize this year’s Corporate & HBE Chairs, sponsors, chambers, sponsors, attendees, USHCC Board of Directors, and USHCC staff for their hard work in executing the 2016 Annual Convention.
