Fernand Fernandez

Fernand “Fern” Fernandez American Airlines’ Vice President – Global Marketing is an experienced airline executive with more than 19-years in the industry. In this role, Fernandez leads the team responsible for advertising, brand, product development, promotions, sponsorship and marketing initiatives for all of the company’s products and services.

He works across the enterprise and partners with various operational departments, such as reservations, airport customer service, and in-flight service to create and deliver an industry leading customer experience.

Fernandez joined US Airways in 2007, as Director – Dividend Miles and was later promoted to Managing Director – Marketing and Customer Loyalty where he led a team responsible for managing the efforts to provide high-value, world-class loyalty and partnership programs for US Airways 30 million members worldwide. In addition Fern led all marketing, communications and advertising activities at US Airways, Dividend Miles and US Airways Vacations.

He began his airline career at TWA followed by Northwest Airlines where he held a number of increasingly responsible positions in Finance, Alliances, Marketing and Sales.

A native of South Florida, he graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science and Business Administration. Fernandez is on the Board of Directors of the Arizona State University’s Gammage, the largest university-based presenters of performing arts in the world. He is also on the Board of Directors of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Fernandez lives with his wife and two children in Dallas.
