Walter Rodriguez is Director of Segment and Cultural Portfolio Strategy & Planning within the Chief Marketing Office for Verizon where he is focused on developing the Strategic Intent and Business Strategy to drive growth within Strategic and High Growth Segments.
Most recently he played a significant role as Director of Marketing Operations for Verizon Enterprise Solutions where he provided direct support to the Chief Marketing Officer and was responsible for organizational alignment, marketing effectiveness, resource planning, knowledge and preparedness of the Marketing organization.
Walter is credited with supporting the launch of Verizon’s 4G LTE next generation network and has been responsible for many marketing, retail and sales initiatives throughout his 13 year career at Verizon. After managing multiple stores in Manhattan including the Flagship 42nd St Midtown location he moved into a Marketing role where he was responsible for Multicultural Marketing to the Hispanic Segment in the Northeast Area of Verizon Wireless.
Walter joined Verizon as an assistant store manager after 8 years of Big Box retail experience with Computer City and The Wiz. He completed his Bachelors Degree at Rutgers University Newark while working as a full-time Store Manager.
Walter is also the Marketing Officer for Prospanica’s (previously the National Society of Hispanic MBA) New Jersey Chapter, serves HISPA as an active Role Model and has served his church as a Board Member and on the church’s Youth Committee.
He is a first Generation Hispanic having arrived in the United States with his parents at the age of nine. He advanced through the ESL program at his school and learned several business attributes from his grandparents and parents who owned small businesses when he was a child.
Walter received his MBA from Centenary College in Parsippany New Jersey and quickly moved up the ranks to his current role as an executive and leader of the business where he is continually motivated to learn and expand on his responsibilities to further his mindset and career.
