Xavier Gonzalez

Xavier Gonzalez serves as the Chief Executive Officer of eMerge Americas, helping lead the effort to establish Miami as the technology hub of the Americas. Gonzalez oversees the strategic direction for the organization and manages the team that produces eMerge Americas, a groundbreaking global innovation conference that gathers the brightest minds and aims to attract leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and innovators from across the globe to discuss the technology transforming industries. Under Gonzalez’s leadership eMerge Americas has grown to attract more than 13,000 attendees from over 60 countries, more than 500 participating companies, 100 innovative startups, and 1 billion media impressions worldwide. Prior to being named CEO Gonzalez served as COO and Executive Director for eMerge Americas.

Prior to joining eMerge Americas, Gonzalez was Vice President of Corporate Communications for Terremark, a Verizon Company responsible for the global corporate communications activities of the company. Gonzalez oversaw media relations, coordinated large-scale corporate events, and handled internal communications for Terremark’s global operations. Through his efforts, Terremark and its executives were featured in various top-tier media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg TV, The Wall Street Journal, The Miami Herald, the Associated Press, and several highly regarded IT trade publications.

In 2014, Gonzalez was recognized by the Miami Herald as one of Miami’s 20 Under 40 leaders in the community. South Florida Business & Wealth Magazine recognized Gonzalez as the COO of the Year in Miami-Dade County in 2015. He is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee, serves on the Boards of Directors of The Beacon Council and Camillus House, and is a member of the United Way’s Young Leaders Executive Council.

Gonzalez received his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Florida.
